CenturyLink is opening up a cloud centre in Seattle

In a return to roots of sorts, CenturyLink announced the opening of the CenturyLink Cloud Development Centre in Seattle, Washington, which will house about 300 of the company’s cloud experts and offer a space for industry and customers to collaborate on building cloud solutions.

Telecommunications and managed services provider CenturyLink this week acquired Tier 3, a small infrastructure as a service and platform as a service provider. The double-play will bolster CenturyLink’s growing arsenal of cloud services, which already includes cloud service provider Savvis and Cloud Foundry-based platform as a service AppFog.
