Microsoft drives storage integration with Azure


Microsoft is looking to drive tighter integration between its cloud infrastructure platform Azure and StorSimple, a cloud-integrated storage platform it acquired in 2012. Takeshi Numoto, corporate vice president, cloud and enterprise marketing at Microsoft said the move will allow customers to cut storage costs and implement disaster recovery more easily.

Microsoft launched a new Azure partnership network, extending its cloud platform to third party datacentres in over 90 new markets

In a bid to bolster its public cloud solutions to enterprise end users and cloud service providers alike Microsoft announced Thursday that the company will extend its IaaS / PaaS platform Windows Azure to a global network of partners. The move gives the software giant access to over four hundred datacentres globally from which to deliver its cloud services.
