Oracle and Salesforce announce cloud partnership

Oracle and are integrating their cloud services and Oracle have announced a nine-year technology partnership that will see Salesforce adopt a range of Oracle technologies as a platform for its popular cloud services. As part of the agreement, will standardise its platform on the Oracle Linux operating system and use the company’s Exadata engineered hardware systems, Oracle database and Java middleware.

Salesforce acquires ExactTarget in cash deal valued at $2.5bn

In Salesforce’s largest acquisition to date, the company announced Tuesday that it is moving to acquire ExactTarget, a provider of marketing software services, in a cash deal worth $2.5bn. Salesforce will integrate and offer its customers use of ExactTarget marketing automation solutions, and ExactTarget customers will have access to the CRM and marketing platform.
