Crew Clothing taps Oracle Marketing Cloud, ups active customers 20%

British retailer Crew Clothing has tapped into Oracle’s marketing cloud platform in a bid to improve customer acquisition and the effectiveness of the company’s direct marketing campaigns. Sebastiano Elia, online marketing executive at Crew Clothing said the firm was able to increase active customers by 20 per cent.

Database incumbent Oracle announced this week that the company has agreed to acquire cloud marketing firm BlueKai for an undisclosed sum. Oracle said that BlueKai, which bills itself as a big-data-for-marketing company, will be folded into another recent Oracle acquisition, Responsys, as it moves to consolidate its cloud-based marketing platform after a series of acquisitions.

Cloud marketing firm Responsys, which was gobbled up by Oracle in December, has itself acquired PushIO, a small technology company specialising in push notifications on mobile devices and desktops. The acquisition will help Responsys (Oracle) keep pace with other cloud companies looking to bring more focus on mobile and broaden the pitch to CMOs.
