Redmond-based software giant Microsoft bolstered big data, machine learning and mobile capabilities in its flagship productivity offerings at the annual Sharepoint conference this week. Microsoft’s message is clear: contextual awareness, integration and collaboration, rather than the traditional siloed model of working, is the productivity style of tomorrow’s workplace.

NY-based health centres deploy Office 365 to mitigate IT outages

CHN has 11 centres across New York, and said that it deployed Office 365 in a bid to avoid IT systems outages during crises

The Community Healthcare Network (CHN), a group of non-profit community health centres that provide medical, dental and social services throughout New York said that its centres have moved their productivity applications over to the cloud. Catherine Abate, CHN’s president and chief executive officer said the move will ensure its IT systems remain active during a crisis as the centres look to avoid a repeat of the challenges they encountered when Hurricane Sandy hit in 2012.
