CSC acquires cloud startup ServiceMesh to bolster enterprise offerings

CSC says its acquisition of ServiceMesh will allow it to broaden its appeal to enterprises moving to the cloud

US-based Computer Sciences Corporation announced Thursday that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire ServiceMesh, a startup providing enterprise cloud management services, for an undisclosed sum.

The deal was not without its discontents, the most notable of which was Carl Icahn, a billionaire activist investor who attempted to thwart the transaction along with Southeastern Asset Management investment firm, claiming that Dell was being undervalued. The conflict led to several court cases and three delayed votes before the deal was finally approved by the Board Thursday.
