Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan announced Thursday that it has begun rolling out its NissanConnect Apps service globally, a connected car platform based on Airbiquity’s smartphone app integration tools and its private cloud solution.
In July 2012, seven mobile operators across the world — KPN, NTT Docomo, Rogers, SingTel, Telefónica, Telstra and Vimpelcom —teamed up to create an alliance to collaborate in the M2M space. They have since been joined by AT&T, América Móvil and Etisalat. The collaboration aims to develop a global product featuring a unique SIM, united web interface and centralised management of status and usage of M2M devices globally, via Jasper Wireless’s Control Centre.
