On the eve of its AWS re:Invent 2015 event internet giant Amazon is positioning itself for a run at the business intelligence market.
Business Intelligence and financial planning software provider Adaptive Insights has appointed Citrix chairman and tech industry veteran Tom Bogan as the company’s next chief executive officer. The move will see current Adaptive Insights chief executive officer and founder Rob Hull stay on as chairman.

German pharmaceuticals giant Bayer has invested years implementing a big data platform which offers users rich visualisation capabilities for financial data and other KPIs. Daniela Hartig, head of BI at Bayer Pharmaceuticals said the project is just a stepping stone for the company, which plans to extend the platform to cover operational and other high-velocity data in the future.

Cloud-based business intelligence and analytics provider Birst announced Wednesday that it has appointed Jay Larson to the role of chief executive officer. He will replace co-founder Brad Peters, who will take on the role of chairman and chief product officer at the company.
