Virtualisation heavyweight VMware announced Wednesday that the company has officially flipped the switch on its UK datacentre in Slough, which will power the company’s infrastructure as a service platform in Europe. Bill Fathers, senior vice president and general manager of the hybrid cloud services business unit at VMware said the company made the move in part to help customers satisfy local data sovereignty requirements.
