Daisy Group has acquired unidied comms and cloud provider Damovo UK for an undisclosed sum

Recently privatised Daisy Group has acquired unified communications competitor Damovo UK for an undisclosed sum.

Daisy said Damovo, which provides a range of traditional and cloud-based communications and contact centre services to the mid-market and SMEs, will strengthen its overall portfolio, particularly around managed services, contact centre services, enterprise networks and cloud.

Damovo has strategic technology partnerships in place with Cisco, Mitel and Microsoft, and currently counts over 250 public and private sector organisations as customers; last year the firm raked in £27.5m in revenue, with an operating profit of £1.9m.

The acquisition will see its UK operations, which consists of over 200 employees, join the Daisy Group.

“This is the first acquisition we have undertaken since Daisy’s privatisation and enhances our capability in the enterprise space. With strong vendor relationships and an expert team in place, the business is well positioned for growth under our ownership,” said Matthew Riley, Daisy Group’s founder and executive chairman.

“The converging world of traditional telecoms and IT continues to present exciting opportunities and with a rapidly expanding cloud and managed services division the acquisition of this highly scalable UK business is a clear strategic fit for the Group,” Riley said.

A Daisy Group spokesperson told BCN the acquisition will strengthen the company’s end-to-end IT and communications solutions targeted at the UK mid-market, an increasingly competitive segment where incumbents that traditionally cater to larger enterprises have been making inroads in recent years.
