Coupa and NetSuite are integrating their platforms and jointly marketing them to enterprises

Coupa has announced a partnership with NetSuite that will see the two companies jointly promote and market Coupa’s cloud-based spend and expense management software as an integrated offering with NetSuite’s ERP platform.

Coupa and NetSuite have integrated their respective cloud platforms using Coupa’s Cloud APIs and NetSuite’s SuiteCloud development platform.

The companies said the move will help consumerise financial applications within the enterprise without sacrificing the capabilities that help the firms compete with large incumbents (i.e. SAP and Ariba), and make it easier for users to purchase goods and services from suppliers.

“We believe this relationship can bring immense value to our joint customers. They can now take advantage of the benefits of both Coupa and NetSuite to help their employees easily purchase all of their goods and services including indirect goods anywhere, regardless of the device those customers are using—be it a smart phone, a tablet, or a personal computer,” said Zach Nelson, NetSuite’s chief executive officer.

The partnership was announced as NetSuite’s chief rival, SAP, released its third quarter financial results, which saw cloud subscriptions and support revenue reach €277 m, a 45 per cent increase on last year’s Q3 yield (€191m).

This year has seen NetSuite attempt to bolster its penetration of Europe. The company partnered with Dell Services and Deloitte in February in a bid to deepen the company’s reach into niche verticals, and in the summer NetSuite acquired Venda, a London-based e-commerce solutions provider with some fairly high-profile customers.
