BT has announced it has upgraded its unified enterprise communications and collaboration services portfolio

UK fixed line incumbent BT has upgraded its unified enterprise communications and collaboration offering with the addition of communications software and services firm Unify’s Openscape portfolio.

Unify was formerly known as Siemens Enterprise Communications until rebranding in October last year. According to Allan Bond, senior product manager at BT, the operator has been selling Siemens’ legacy ISDX corporate phone system and Hipath telephony platform to enterprise end users for over 20 years.

“This enterprise agreement builds on the legacy past and enables us to contract and offer the latest generation of the Unify portfolio and forms part of our BT enterprise unified communications portfolio,” he said.

The two firms have signed a multi-country enterprise agreement covering the UK, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany. In the UK, the suite will be targeted towards the government and healthcare sectors.

Unify’s Openscape offering comprises of voice, video, web conferencing, instant chat, messaging and telepresence applications. The firm said that the solutions are aimed at simplifying the management of enterprise IT systems and improve business performance.
