Wipro is partnering with Jaspersoft to provide BI and big data analytics to global customers

Indian outsourcing firm Wipro announced Wednesday that the company is partnering with Jaspersoft to provide business intelligence services and analytics to the company’s global clients.

The partnership will see Wipro offer Jaspersoft’s business intelligence offerings to customers, which includes a combination of back-end ETL, front-end dashboards and analytics software tailored to a range of verticals.

Wipro and Jaspersoft are also partnering to develop apps with embedded analytic capabilities. The companies have already created an app that analyses weather patterns and enables users to adjust heating and cooling temperatures in multiple facilities, with the aim of helping to reduce energy waste and costs.

Paul Kochanski, senior director of worldwide channels at Jaspersoft, said: “The combination of our partner program and market-leading technologies —including self-service BI, embedded flexibility and cost efficiency — is attracting global partners such as Wipro.”

This is Wipro’s second big data-focused partnership in recent months. In February it partnered with big data platform provider Agnik in a deal that will see the two companies jointly develop a vehicle performance analytics platform to help make sense of connected vehicle data.

The moves come as one of Wipro’s biggest competitors, Infosys, continues to make headway with cloud and big data technologies.
